Overview:
Agile Defense is looking for a Data Engineer to support our contract with a federal agency focused on critical infrastructure protection and secure information sharing with the private sector. The Data Engineer will help maintain and optimize data systems that facilitate collaboration between the government and external stakeholders. You will manage and update enterprise tools, ensuring that data standards are maintained, and systems operate smoothly.
As part of a dynamic, collaborative environment, you will play a critical role in supporting national security by ensuring the integrity of crucial data systems. Your work will help strengthen strategic partnerships between the government and private sector, contributing to the mitigation of security threats. You will be proactive in identifying issues and offering innovative solutions that enhance data systems, contributing to mission success.

Responsibilities/Duties:
Data Maintenance. Update and maintain the information within enterprise systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency across the enterprise.
Requirements Documentation. Assist the relationship management team by identifying and documenting technical data requirements for the enterprise systems.
Data Standards. Develop guidance around the appropriate use of enterprise systems, ensuring consistent data standards across the organization.
Customer Service. Provide technical expertise and support to HQ and field users, assisting them with technical issues and ensuring smooth system operations.
System Auditing. Audit system content for missing or inappropriate metadata, report technical issues, and ensure timely resolution of problems.
Data Delivery & Documentation. Ensure that data delivery and implementation processes are scheduled, documented, and processed efficiently.
Required Qualifications:
Education. A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or Engineering) or at least 8 years of experience without a degree.
Experience:
2-4 years of work experience in a data analytics or data engineering role.
4 years of experience in technical writing to document processes, standards, and user guidance using MS Office.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, R, Perl, bash) and advanced SQL for data manipulation.
Experience with business intelligence tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Microsoft PowerBI.

- Experience working on large-scale data systems or enterprise-level tools.
