In the role of AWS Engineer you'll be the maestro of our cloud infrastructure, crafting and managing it with flair. You'll be working with the latest public cloud platforms and technologies, ensuring that our cloud solutions are not just top-notch, but also consistent across the company.
Your mission? To make the cloud work smarter, not harder. By creating reusable modules and tools, you'll help us steer clear of the "re-invent the wheel" syndrome and avoid the hassle of managing different cloud builds in various ways.
This role sits in the heart of the financial services industry, so a sharp focus on security, regulation, and detail is key. Key responsibilities:
- Craft and architect the blueprint of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring a robust and scalable design.
- Steer the deployment and ongoing maintenance of cloud applications, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for efficiency and consistency.
- Tackle and resolve any hurdles encountered within our cloud infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations.
- Collaborate with application development and corporate application teams to innovate and create cutting-edge cloud-based solutions.
- Uphold and enforce high standards and best practices, ensuring our cloud infrastructure remains top-notch.
- Serve as a technical guru, offering insights and direction to other teams within the company, aligning with their unique requirements.
We would love to see:
- AWS Associate certification or 2+ years of experience with ECS, RDS, ELB, VPC, S3, IAM, Route53, and serverless computing.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform and CDKTF.
- At least 5 years of experience in Linux (Debian, Centos, Amazon Linux).
- Expertise in Docker, virtualization, and configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt.
- Strong skills in Python and Bash scripting.
- Ability to apply security best practices in a cloud environment and optimize infrastructure costs.
- Experience managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux-based services and cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge in deploying and configuring MySQL and Postgres databases.
- Understanding of TCP networking, IPSEC, VPN, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
