Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) - Contract

Aescape is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, who will will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of materials, components and ultimately the end product supplied to Aescape by our suppliers and contract manufacturers. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong supplier quality program, ensuring supplier quality compliance by conducting supplier audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve any quality-related issues. Your expertise will help us maintain the highest standards in product quality and develop strong partnerships with our suppliers.

This role is onsite or hybrid in Taipei

What You'll Do

As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer at Aescape you will:

• Assist in establishing and maintaining an effective supplier quality management program, encompassing supplier evaluation, qualification, and performance monitoring.

• Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent future non-conformities.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

• Perform risk assessments on new and existing suppliers to mitigate potential quality and delivery risks.

• Monitor key supplier performance metrics, analyze trends, and develop action plans to maintain and improve supplier performance and ensure continuous improvement.

• Ensure that suppliers effectively utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality control tools to monitor and improve product quality through process improvement.

• Lead investigations into root causes of supplier-related quality issues and drive the implementation and internal review of corrective and preventive actions.

• Support suppliers in the development and improvement of their quality management systems and processes.

• Work closely with suppliers to support quality inspections at IQC, IPQC, and finished goods level, ensuring they follow Aescape’s requirements, address any issues that arise, and support shipping approval.

• Conduct new and existing vendor quality audits, compile vendor audit reports, and track any open issues to closure.

• Document development and support is a key requirement for this position, including updates to quality documents, quality criteria, and ensuring quality definition for all components through the support of supplier quality control plans (QCP) and other related documentation. 

What You’ll Bring

• 10+ years of experience related to supplier quality management, quality control and manufacturing. 

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering or similar. 

• The ability to work independently, and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 

• A positive can-do attitude.

• An understanding of the importance of ensuring and maintaining great supplier relationships. 

• Experience developing and maintaining an effective supplier quality management program, including supplier evaluation, qualification, and performance monitoring.

• Proven capability assisting the suppliers with the implementation of required jigs and fixtures necessary for fitment, assembly and testing of the components and sub assemblies. 

• Proven understanding of material, and product inspection and testing across all stages of production including IQC, IPQC, FATP and OQC using AQL principals.

• Prior experience and thorough understanding of Product Quality Planning and related process controls, including SPC, PFMEA, Process Validation, Quality Control Plan, etc.

• Strong problem-solving skills and experience with the following processes e.g DMAIC, 8D, 5W, RCA.

• Previous experience with Arena or a similar PLM system. 

• Fluency in Mandarin and English, written and verbal.

• Previous experience with ISO 13485 quality management system and related requirements a bonus.

• Must have own transport to travel to supplier locations around Taipei and must be willing to travel to other parts of Taiwan by other modes of transport as required.

• A track record of collaborating with international cross-functional teams.
