Job Description

Position Overview

We are hiring for the position of Section Engineer – Civil for an elevated metro project in Nagpur. As a Section Engineer - Civil, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of elevated metro projects. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the construction activities of elevated metro structures, including viaducts, piers, stations, and other related civil works.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and design documents.
• Provide technical guidance to the site team and subcontractors to resolve on-site challenges.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team to address any non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
• Liaise with project managers, design consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Attend progress review meetings and provide updates on construction milestones.
• Plan and allocate manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize productivity and efficiency.
• Monitor resource utilization and identify areas for improvement.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings regularly.
• Maintain accurate records of daily progress, material consumption, and site activities.
• Prepare and submit progress reports, work schedules, and other required documentation to the project management team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BE/BTech) or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a proven track record in elevated metro projects.
• Hands-on experience in managing at least 2 elevated metro projects from inception to completion.

Preferred Attributes

• Proficiency in construction management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of metro rail design standards, construction techniques, and materials.
• Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO, BIS, and other metro-specific codes.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
