Key Responsibilities

• ·        Overall responsibility for the Manufacturing Engineering organization. 
• ·        Leading the activities of manufacturing techs and process engineers to ensure that we are continuously improving and maintaining compliance.
• ·        Work cross functionally to integrate existing and/or new products into the manufacturing operation and supply chain.  Utilize Design Assurance process to ensure process changes do not impact the design requirements.
• Responsible for all tooling evaluation and production integration.
• Demonstrate a proficiency in project management, including obtaining up-front agreement on project definitions and priorities, and ensuring that resources, capabilities and processes are in place.
• Establish written team and individual goals and insure they are aligned with operational goals.  
• Ensure metrics for engineering performance are met and plans are in place to provide continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production, and E & D departments to improve the process quality, reduce cycle time and determine cost effectiveness through design for manufacturability team project meetings.
• Develop and monitor systems to ensure all Manufacturing Engineering SOP’s, test methods, machine programs files and verification / validation documents are current and accurate.
• Work closely with manufacturing operations to address CAPAs, improve productivity and upgrade operator skills.
• Responsible for developing and executing the Manufacturing Engineering budgets.
• Responsible for the development and execution of cost reduction projects.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required or equivalent experience; Master’s Degree preferred

• Minimum of 5 years technical experience, preferably in the orthopedic, medical device or related field. 
• A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience managing engineers or other technical personnel is required.
• Project management experience with demonstrated ability to align multi-functional teams is required. 
• Experience with developing manufacturing processes and process improvement is required.
