We are seeking an experienced service engineer to join a highly motivated and fast-paced team to join us in building a new creativity platform that will help define the future of Creative Cloud and Adobe’s Digital Media business!

You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these cloud features that drive the system architecture and spearhead the standard methodologies that make the service highly available, scalable and reliable.

The ideal candidate is adaptable to an agile environment, passionate about new opportunities in cloud services and has a consistent track record of success in delivering new cloud focused features.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, deliver and maintain critical features and highly performant scalable web services and applications to deliver high quality user experience in the Express ecosystem.
  • Take on exciting design and engineering problems to deliver best-in-class services.
  • Coordinate with architects, senior developers and other integrating teams.
  • Ensure the quality of components meets high standards and ensure all appropriate validations are in place and being monitored.
  • Advocate development and operation standard methodologies among the development team.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on problems of all shapes and sizes, from code to new ideas and methodologies.
  • Work closely with product managers to gather requirements, analyze technical feasibility, and propose design solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Architect scalable and reliable systems by applying standard methodologies in system design.
  • Keep on lookout for upcoming technologies and cost saving initiatives without compromising the product requirements and quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Act with clarity and precision, ensuring projects are driven with a strong sense of ownership and direction.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science (preferred), or equivalent experience in the field.
  • 5+ years proven experience building and maintaining highly performant and scalable web services.
  • Expertise in developing services and design principles.
  • Profound knowledge of web technologies and cloud services.
  • High fluency in data structures, algorithms, data modeling and schema design.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and experience in Java
  • Familiarity with other technologies such as Kubernetes, Node.js, Docker, and AWS.
  • Track record of designing and developing robust, scalable high impact cloud services
  • Proficient with large scale web application design and development standard methodologies to achieve modular, maintainable and extensible solutions
  • Knowledge in test frameworks, code coverage, static code analysis tools
  • Operational experience running publicly available cloud services and applications, including AWS deployment/management services (CloudFormation, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Self-motivated problem solver with a can-do demeanor
  • Comfortable both buildijng prototypes from scratch and writing maintainable code inside large existing codebases
  • Shipped software in a commercial environment (start-ups a plus) and can deal with last-minute bug fixes and schedule changes
  • Excellent collaborating skill with teams to get work done
  • Strong learning skills for new technologies

Bonus

  • Full stack with good understanding of client-side design and development
  • Familiarity with document presentation file formats such as PDF, PPTX, DOCX, etc
  • Experience with DevOps
  • Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM development practices

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $124,000 -- $234,200 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
