The opportunity

Adobe Photoshop is rapidly growing its Machine Learning team and is searching for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer skilled in Generative AI technologies. This position fits a hardworking individual who has practical experience deploying production-ready Machine Learning capabilities. They bring an AI-centered perspective to solving practical problems.

The successful applicant will have a track record of designing, rolling out, and scaling Machine Learning models for production use. They need strong familiarity with essential machine learning principles, contemporary generative strategies including diffusion models, transformers, and large language models, as well as significant experience in data administration, refinement, and analysis.

You will partner with engineering, product, and design teams in this role to develop innovative user-facing AI features. You will use current AI tools, platforms, and techniques across the software development lifecycle to boost system efficiency, developer productivity, and model performance.

What you will do

• Deliver high-quality, scalable Machine Learning features, owning them end-to-end—from ideation, building, and development to shipping production-grade capabilities powered by Machine Learning models.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, and UX teams around the world to build innovative, technology-enhanced “Adobe magic” experiences for users.
• Drive innovation in the digital imaging and creative AI space, finding opportunities to apply an AI-first approach to improve product capabilities.
• Use modern tools, platforms, and standard methodologies across the SDLC (including experimentation, evaluation pipelines, automation, and observability) to improve system efficiency and developer productivity.
• Conduct thoughtful, constructive code and build reviews, with a focus on quality, scalability, and responsible AI practices.
• Mentor and guide engineers, acting as a role model in building AI-first systems, promoting guidelines in ML engineering, Generative AI, and production readiness.

What you need to succeed

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in software development with Machine Learning.
• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks and generative models.
• Demonstrated skill in developing, launching, and expanding AI models in a live environment.
• Strong C++ development and performance optimisation skills.
• Experience with AI-first engineering and modern SDLC practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills; comfortable with ambiguity and complex challenges.
• Experience working in Agile, cross-functional environments.
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical collaborators.
• Passion for innovation in digital imaging and creative AI and staying current with advancements.
