Job Description

Our Company

Changing the world through digital experiences is what Adobe’s all about. We give everyone—from emerging artists to global brands—everything they need to imagine, create, and deliver exceptional digital experiences. We’re on a mission to hire the very best and believe the next big idea could be yours.

The Opportunity

Firefly Enterprise is bringing generative AI into real creative workflows—directly inside the tools customers already use. The Extensibility team builds and evolves GenStudio plugins (e.g., for Figma and other creative hosts) that connect in-product experiences to Firefly imaging workflows (generate image/similar, generative expand, remove background, etc.) and GenStudio enterprise workflows (templating/mapping, iteration, governance handoff). The problem we’re solving: enterprise creative teams want the speed of generative AI without leaving their native tools or rebuilding complex templates elsewhere. Today, moving between tools and web apps can break pixel-perfect designs, fragment iteration history, and make it harder to enforce enterprise guardrails. GenStudio plugins solve this by enabling in-tool generation and editing, mapping content to structured fields/roles (headline/body/CTA/on-image text), and handing off outputs to GenStudio for governance and activation—all while integrating with the right APIs and enterprise constraints. This role is frontend-first with basic full-stack expectations: you’ll mainly build UI and client architecture, and you’ll also be comfortable debugging service integrations, collaborating on API contracts, and making small backend contributions when needed.

What you’ll do

  • Build and ship GenStudio plugins using modern JavaScript/TypeScript and a contemporary frontend framework (React/Web Components or similar).
  • Own user-facing workflows end-to-end: UI implementation, interaction design fidelity, state management, performance, accessibility, and reliability.
  • Integrate deeply with APIs (REST/GraphQL): handle auth flows, async job orchestration (polling), retries, error states, and instrumentation-friendly patterns.
  • Design for extensibility: implement flexible UI patterns and plugin architecture that can grow to new workflows, new hosts, and enterprise requirements.
  • Work closely with Product and Design: clarify requirements, surface edge cases early, and iterate quickly with high-quality execution.
  • Champion engineering quality: unit/integration testing where appropriate, code reviews, build/release hygiene, and pragmatic tech debt management.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers through reviews, pairing, and design discussions.

What you need to succeed

  • 6–8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong frontend focus.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern component-based UI development.
  • Proven experience integrating with APIs and building robust client-side systems around asynchronous workflows.
  • Strong CS fundamentals and practical software design skills.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to collaborate across functions and time zones.

Nice to have

  • Experience building embedded/plugin UIs (Figma plugins, UXP panels, add-ins, extensions, or other constrained runtimes).
  • Basic backend experience (Node.js/services) and comfort working with logs/metrics and debugging cross-service issues.
  • Familiarity with LLMs/GenAI concepts and integrating AI capabilities into products.
  • Experience with build systems, CI/CD, and release processes (marketplace-style or enterprise deployments).
