Staff Cloud Platform Engineer (d/f/m)

About The Team:

The mobile.de Cloud And Infrastructure team is providing tooling and support to enable our application developers within a public cloud environment. We take care of IaC for containerised workloads on Kubernetes, observability integrations, resource management and more. We fight toil, believe in everything as code and enjoy helping our colleagues work smarter and faster. We are involved in mobile.de’s ongoing public cloud transformation and we watch over our platform 24/7 to detect and handle incidents in time. As part of the IT and Business Operations department in mobile.de we report to the CTO.

We work hybrid and usually meet in the office in Berlin Charlottenburg once a week.

What you'll do:

• Contribute to the success and future of Germany’s biggest automotive marketplace with your experience

• Challenge the status quo every day and be a vital part in the optimisation and evolution of the platform in the public cloud

• Co-own operations and always improve our platform by increasing automation, simplicity, reliability and observability

• Share your knowledge and mentor team members and application developers in SRE principles

• Use, adapt and (re)design automated workflows and maintain, upgrade and migrate services of any kind

• Aim to understand the platforms history to shape the future by establishing playbooks and tools for maintenances and migrations

• It´s all about platform engineering in the public cloud and its operations and we want you for this!

Who you are:

• You have 7+ years of relevant professional experience

• You ´re perfectly familiar with agile processes, communication and project management

• You have experience in planning and leading migration projects

• You are proficient in public cloud (AWS, GCP) and containerisation concepts

• You are looking forward to working with K8s, Docker and Cloud Native Services

• You write your configuration code in Terraform/Terragrunt

• You are open to an occasional deep-dive into Bash, Python, Java, etc.

• Replicated datastores like MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, etc. do not scare you

• Your skill set includes good operational knowledge (TCP, DNS, TLS, HTTP, etc.)

• Consulting and helping others with your expertise makes your day

• Your deep understanding of cloud architecture enables you to contribute to ADRs
