About the role 

We are looking for an experienced SQL/Data Solution Designer with strong SQL design expertise to join our team. 

You will design SQL solutions and data models in our system (MS SQL Server, T-SQL, Azure SQL), including schema design, versioning and performance optimization; and plan and execute schema and data migrations. You will create solution designs for features, drive feature refinements in collaboration with requirements engineers and the Product Owner, and support the Team Lead during planning cycles. Experience with Databricks and Python is highly desired, but you can also build it up on the job. 

Your responsibilities 

1. Design SQL solutions and data models in our system, including versioning of data models 

1. Develop and execute schema and data migrations 

1. Create solution designs for new features 

1. Drive feature refinements in collaboration with requirement engineers and the Product Owner 

1. Create technical user stories 

1. Support the Team Lead during planning cycles 

1. Optimize ETL performance and complex data flows with Azure Data Factory 

1. Design and implement data processes (e.g. Azure Data Factory pipelines, Databricks) 

1. Work with cloud-based data infrastructure (Azure) 

1. Conduct technical QA 

Your skills 

Absolute must-have 

1. Strong, proven SQL design expertise: designing schemas, data models and database objects in MS SQL Server (T-SQL), including in legacy systems 

1. Data modelling concepts and techniques (data warehouse and transactional) 

1. Experience planning and executing schema and data migrations 

Highly desirable 

1. Good knowledge of the Azure data engineering stack: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake knowledge would be highly beneficial 

1. Working knowledge of DevOps, testing, operating and optimizing complex data flows 

Nice-to-have (can be learned on the job) 

1. Databricks and Delta Lake 

1. Python 

1. PowerShell 

1. Cosmos DB 

1. PowerBI
