About the product
Atoti is the data analytics platform developed by ActiveViam especially for financial services organizations. This unique technology meets the specific needs of the industry in ways general-purpose databases and mass-market business intelligence tools do not.
Atoti delivers speed and precision. Unlike mainstream data analytics technologies that pre-aggregate datasets, pre-calculate metrics and pre-load dashboards, Atoti works on the fly to give users fast access to the data they need along with complete analytical freedom. This requires sub-second aggregation of complex metrics on large volumes of data, which Atoti delivers with database innovations such as in-memory column stores, bitmap indexes, work-stealing multithreading and distributed computing combined with user-defined functions that run at native speed.

About Your team
Join our R&D department located in Paris and enter an environment where you will create new algorithms, concepts, and products in the big data landscape.
We are a R&D team of 35 back end, front end and full stack engineers, focused on code quality and innovation.
As part of the backend team, you will be working on a highly advanced Java database server. Your contributions will speed up the queries thanks to new algorithms, add new types of computations to help our customers build complex indicators, reduce the memory usage, simplify our public APIs, etc.
The Role
In Activeviam, the role of a Software Engineer is to create, design and develop applications, systems or websites and also to test, improve and maintain any software that is already in place.
Software Engineers are people who love to write code and tackle complex problems. They start as individual contributors, and aspire to become highly qualified engineers who :
- master the technical aspects of one or more ActiveViam products,
- share their knowledge with other R&D engineers,
- develop a global vision of the ecosystem the products evolve in.
Key Duties
- Write code to improve the product or create new functionalities
- Learn the best software engineering practices with your senior and lead engineers
- Participate in design sessions
- Get acquainted with the products

Technical environment
- Java (17/21)

Your profile
- Graduated from a top-10 engineering school
- Proven programming skills with at least one object-oriented language such as Java, C++
- Good analytical skills
- Willingness to learn
- Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking
- Passionate about innovation paired with technical expertise
Ideally, you also have:
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance, scalability
