Network Engineer (2025-0112)

Location: Reston, VA

We are actively seeking a Network Engineer with a current TS/SCI clearance and polygraph to join our Network Services Division in Herndon, VA.  The qualified individual will have a minimum of 16 years' experience with a Bachelor's Degree (14 years' with a Master's) in one or more of the disciplines described below where specific skills may include the following…
Technical Skills
•     In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc)
•     Understanding of network architecture, design, and implementation
•     Experience with network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs)
•     Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
•     Familiarity with network virtualization and software definite networking (SDN)
Experience
•     Adept in network engineering, with focus on design, implementation, and management of complex networks.
•     Experience with network architecture, design, and implementation in a large-scale environment.
•     Proven track record of successfully resolving complex network issues and improving network performance.
Subject Matter Expertise
•     In depth knowledge of specific network technologies such as:
o     Routing and switching
o     Network security (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection)
o     Cloud networking e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
o     Software-defined networking (SD)
o     Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
o     Experience with creating technical documentation, such as design documents, implementation plans and technical notes
o     Skills in network protocols
•     Routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, etc.
•     Switching protocols such as STP, LACP, VTP, etc.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
Certifications:
•     CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certification
•     Advanced Certifications such as:
o     Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or
o     CCIE Cisco Certified Internetwork
o     Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) or
o     Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP)
o     Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional

Pay Range: There are many factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
