The Opportunity

Are you an experienced architect who can shape the technical direction of complex digital programmes, build credibility with clients and develop the capability of those around you?

We’re looking for Technical Architects to take ownership of end-to-end architecture across digital channels and enterprise applications, translating business strategy into pragmatic, secure and delivery-ready designs.

You’ll have accountability for architecture quality and technical decision-making across web, mobile and connected digital experiences, working closely with engineering and delivery teams while mentoring technical leads and junior architects. You’ll also help teams make effective use of AI-enabled engineering tools and practices to improve how digital solutions are designed and delivered.

What You’ll Do

Architecture Leadership & Ownership

• Own architecture across complex, enterprise-scale digital programmes, from target-state and transition architecture through to delivery oversight.
• Make and communicate key architecture decisions, including build/buy/reuse choices, technical trade-offs, risks and dependencies.
• Lead design reviews and architecture governance, ensuring engineering, security and architecture standards are applied consistently.
• Develop and maintain architecture blueprints, reference architectures and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
• Define appropriate technical approaches, methods and standards for delivery teams.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a trusted technical advisor, translating business and customer objectives into architecturally sound and commercially viable digital solutions.
• Lead architecture workshops, design sessions and executive-level discussions with client and internal stakeholders.
• Shape technology strategy and roadmaps, working across product, engineering, delivery and third-party partners.
• Provide technical direction across web and mobile architecture, APIs and integration, enterprise platforms, cloud services, data and security.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

• Lead and mentor technical leads and senior engineers, supporting delivery quality and professional development.
• Set and uphold engineering standards, code quality and strong architecture practices.
• Help delivery teams translate architectural intent into practical, implementable solutions.
• Promote the effective use of AI-enabled development tooling and practices across engineering teams.
• Contribute to Accenture’s architecture capability through hiring, training, knowledge sharing and development of reusable patterns.

What We’re Looking For

Core Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Significant commercial experience in technical or solution architecture, including end-to-end ownership of complex, multi-workstream programmes.
• Strong architecture experience across modern digital channels and applications, including web and/or mobile solutions.
• Strong knowledge of application architecture, APIs and integration patterns, distributed systems, data and security architecture.
• Experience designing solutions that integrate digital channels with back-end services, APIs and enterprise platforms.
• Practical understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills, with experience influencing senior technical and business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership through mentoring, design reviews and development of engineering or architecture capability.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and modern delivery practices including DevOps, CI/CD and Agile/SAFe.

Highly Desirable

Digital Architecture

Experience in areas such as:

• Architecting scalable, secure and high-performing web and mobile applications and digital experiences.
• Defining digital architecture patterns, engineering standards and technical documentation for delivery teams.
• Modern web application architecture, including front-end technologies, APIs, microservices and integration with enterprise platforms.
• Mobile architecture across iOS and Android, including native and cross-platform approaches.
• Designing for performance, responsiveness, security, accessibility and customer experience across digital channels.
• Building reusable architecture patterns and capabilities that can be applied consistently across web and mobile products.

AI-Enabled Engineering

Experience in areas such as:

• Applying AI-enabled development tools and practices across the software engineering lifecycle to improve productivity, quality and speed of delivery.
• Embedding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or equivalent into engineering workflows and development practices.
• Identifying practical opportunities to use AI across requirements, design, development, testing, documentation and CI/CD.
• Establishing appropriate standards, guardrails and engineering practices for the responsible adoption of AI-assisted development.
• Evaluating emerging technologies and making considered recommendations on adoption, value and risk.

Relevant professional certifications, including digital/mobile technology, AI or cloud architecture certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert or GCP Professional Cloud Architect, are advantageous.
