How you will make an impact
Key Responsibilities
Android Engineering Excellence
Design and implement scalable, testable Android applications using Kotlin and modern architectural patterns (Clean Architecture, MVVM/MVI, Jetpack).
Build modular, secure, high-performance codebases aligned with coding standards.
Integrate with Bluetooth/IoT medical devices, secure local storage, and backend APIs.
Ensure robust error handling, resilience, and offline capabilities.
Regulatory & Compliance Awareness
Translate medical-domain requirements into compliant features respecting GxP, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and EU MDR expectations.
Work with QA/RA teams to support risk assessments, traceability, verification & validation, and design controls.
Contribute code and documentation that fits into audited SDLC workflows (ALM, test evidence, pull-request hygiene, release logs).
Security & Data Protection
Implement strong mobile security: biometrics, secure storage, network encryption, certificate pinning, tamper detection.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and internal security standards.
Collaboration & Leadership
Mentor mid-level and junior developers, performing thoughtful code reviews.
Cooperate closely with designers, clinical SMEs, and backend engineers.
Participate in technical roadmap definition, architectural decisions, and PoCs.
Engage in continuous improvement of DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, automated testing frameworks, and observability.
What you need to succeed
5+ years of professional Android development experience, primarily in Kotlin.
Strong command of Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flows, and Android Architecture Components.
Experience with Bluetooth LE, background services, device sensors, or hardware integrations.
Proven track record working in regulated environments or healthcare/life-sciences products.
Understanding of GxP, MDR, IEC 62304, ISO 27001, HIPAA/GDPR, or similar.
Familiarity with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins), mobile test automation, and artifact management.
Experience with Clean Architecture, modular codebases, and dependency injection (Hilt/Koin/Dagger).
Nice to Have
Experience with clinical decision support systems, digital biomarkers, or digital therapeutics.
Familiarity with HL7/FHIR, medical device connectivity, or diagnostics workflows.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and mobile observability tooling.
Contributions to open-source Android or healthcare software.
