Senior R&D Thermal Engineer

Interested in getting in at the ground floor of a new, disruptive, mission-driven company attacking an environmentally important problem in a rapidly growing industry? Accelsius is developing revolutionary direct-to-chip cooling technology for data centers and is offering an R&D Thermal Engineer position with exciting early career growth opportunities.

Accelsius is looking for an R&D Thermal Engineer to aid in the development of advanced two-phase cooling products for the data center cooling market. The right candidate will be highly innovative, hands-on, and possess strong communication skills. We are currently envisioning the R&D Thermal Engineer candidate to be entry-level, having recently completed a Ph.D. related to the thermo-fluid sciences.  However, all experience levels will be considered.  Background building and testing hardware related to two-phase heat transfer (boiling, condensation, thermosyphons, pumped two-phase cooling, heat pipes, etc.) is strongly preferred.  This position will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and test two-phase cooling products for data centers
  • Draft proposals, write papers, and present research findings at conferences
  • Develop advanced concepts for two-phase cooling and author patent applications

Qualifications for this role include:

  • 0 to 3 years of experience in the industry
  • Well-rounded Thermo-fluids background: both modeling and experimental experiences
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical, Chemical engineering, or any other heat transfer-related discipline
  • Post Doctoral experience is a plus, but not mandatory

Accelsius offers a competitive salary with equity, a full range of benefits including medical and dental, 401K, and unlimited PTO.

The position is based in Austin, Texas.
