Your role and responsibilities

We currently have an opening for the position of Technical Manager (Senior-Level) within ABB India, based in Bangalore – Southfield.

We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead a high-performing team of .NET Full Stack developers. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with people management responsibilities, requiring the ability to guide technical strategy, foster team development, and deliver results through Agile methodologies.

The role requires strong technical expertise across .NET Full Stack development, cloud and DevOps, databases, infrastructure, automation, security, and modern software engineering practices, along with proven experience in team leadership and stakeholder management.

This is a senior-level role and candidates should have 12+ years of overall experience, including 3–4 years of team-handling experience.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Lead sprint planning and end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timelines, scope, deliverables, quality standards, and development priorities are effectively managed.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 10–12 .NET Full Stack developers, fostering collaboration, continuous learning, team productivity, performance development, and career growth.
  • Provide technical leadership by defining engineering standards and best practices, reviewing architecture and design decisions, troubleshooting complex technical challenges, and driving scalable software solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, Release Management, Senior Leadership, and other stakeholders to provide progress updates, risk assessments, technical direction, and guidance on AI-driven development and emerging technologies.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 12+ years of combined hands-on technical and leadership experience in software development, including 3–4 years of team-handling experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in .NET Full Stack development, including backend technologies such as .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET, Web APIs, and Entity Framework, and frontend technologies such as Angular, React JS, TypeScript, RxJS, and NgRx.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, Azure/AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD, along with knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as K8s/K3s, VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure.
  • Experience with industrial automation technologies including OPC UA, MQTT, SCADA, and MES, with an understanding of software solutions used in industrial and automation environments.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, design patterns, Agile/Scrum methodologies, Unit Testing, and OWASP security best practices, supported by strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency with AI tools and emerging technologies, with the ability to guide teams in adopting AI-driven development practices and improving engineering productivity.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, coaching, communication, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance technical decisions with business objectives.
