Your role and responsibilities
The IS Observability Event-Driven Automation Engineer is responsible for developing and supporting automation solutions, system integrations, and workflow orchestration capabilities that enhance operational efficiency through automated diagnostics and, where applicable, automated remediation. The role contributes to the effectiveness of IS Observability monitoring and event management services by improving data quality, reducing manual intervention, and accelerating incident resolution.
Working alongside senior architects and other engineers, this role contributes to automation initiatives that connect enterprise applications, IT Service Management platforms, data sources, cloud services, and operational systems. The position provides a structured career-development path toward becoming a Senior Observability Automation Engineer through hands-on experience in software development, systems integration, event-driven architecture, automation engineering, and solution design.
This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with a strong technical foundation, a passion for learning, and a desire to grow into increasingly complex automation and integration responsibilities.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Automation Development
- Develop and maintain automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and service reliability.
- Reduce manual effort through automated diagnostics, remediation, and workflow orchestration.
- Support solution testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain technical documentation, code repositories, and engineering standards.
- Systems Integration
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations between enterprise applications, databases, cloud services, and IT Service Management platforms.
- Develop REST API integrations and data exchange workflows between business and operational systems.
- Create data transformation and workflow automation solutions supporting enterprise processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across multiple technologies and platforms.
- Data Processing and Enrichment
- Develop and maintain solutions supporting data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities.
- Create event-driven workflows that process and enrich information from multiple enterprise sources.
- Support data quality, normalization, validation, and enrichment initiatives.
- Develop automation solutions that improve accuracy, usability, and accessibility of operational data.
- Engineering Growth and Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver automation solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions and solution reviews.
- Continuously develop expertise in automation, cloud, and integration technologies.
- Support documentation and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications for the role
- 2+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, Automation Engineering, Software Development, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and web-based integrations.
- Understanding of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Basic understanding of infrastructure, networking and cloud concepts and protocols.
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues across multiple systems and technologies.
- Familiarity with source code management solutions such as Git.
- Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies combined with ability to work independently and within collaborative technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
