As an Associate Software Engineer, you will be responsible for learning and participating in the design, development, implementation, and automation of critical business processes for the Company and its internal and external clients through IT.  You will work alongside other teams to automate processes that allow the exchange of data within the Company and between the Company and its external partners and clients.

The fundamentals for the job…

• Collaborate with analysts and designers to develop and initiate new software applications and tools and automate business processes.
• Research, document, and implement user manuals and guidelines, as well as program requirements and specifications.
• Write, translate, and code software programs, applications, scripts, testing frameworks and tools according to standards and specs.
• Run and monitor performance tests on new and existing software to fix mistakes, isolate areas to improve, and general debugging.
• Apply diagnostic analysis to test results and deliver solutions to critical areas.
• Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and appearance of company website and web applications.
• Collaborate with peers across the organization to support the delivery of new applications or processes.
• Interface with industry standard database data sets such as Medispan.
• Implement solutions that adhere to regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA, HITRUST or other security related compliance programs.
• Participate in on-call rotations for release and product support activities.

What you’re made of

The bold requirements…

• Associate degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, or related field (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant experience or formal training may be considered.)
• 1+ months of experience in Software Engineering and Development.
• Experience in using Object Orient Languages such as C++, C#, or Java
• Experience with CSS/HTML and basic JavaScript
• Experience with IDEs such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, Ryder, or similar IDEs
• Experience using SQL Databases such as MS SQL, Postgres, MySQL, or similar database technologies
• Experience using tools for Software Versioning Control such as Git, SVN, Mercurial, or VSTS
• Knowledge of Service Orient Architecture, MVC, and REST API
• Knowledge of Object Orient Principles and Design Patterns
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• We are proud to offer a flexible hybrid work model which will require certain on-site workdays (Puerto Rico Location Only)
• This position requires availability to work in a specified time zone or working schedule, accommodating the business needs of our clients and team members.
• This position may require availability for on-call hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to promptly address emergent issues or provide necessary support as dictated by operational demands (if applicable).

Nice to haves… 

• Experience with Healthcare, Pharmacy, and Pharmacy Benefit Management industries, Medicare Part D, or CMS regulations.
• Experience with Angular or similar frameworks and technologies
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Physical requirements…

• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
