Job description

A-hub is hiring a Mechanical Engineer — a full-time, based in Stockholm role. Apply directly on A-hub's careers page below.

Exeger has invented a solar cell technology that enables endless energy – Powerfoyle. This breakthrough allows products to generate clean energy from ambient light and is already changing how technology is used worldwide.

Exeger is a Swedish innovation company with strong roots in industrial excellence. Development and manufacturing take place in urban factories where science, production, and engineering work side by side. The company's vision is to touch the lives of one billion people through sustainable energy solutions.

Exeger is built by innovators and doers who are passionate about creating real impact. Many challenges have no predefined solutions, and the company embraces this with curiosity, determination, and collaboration. At Exeger, employees work alongside world-leading experts in an environment that combines innovation with real industrial execution. You'll get to do work you can't do anywhere else; building things from the ground up, testing as you go, and seeing firsthand how your solutions perform.

About the role

Exeger is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Industrialization department.

Industrialization department is where they design and develop the machines, equipment, and processes that power Exeger's production. This is a small, tight-knit team with a goal need to modernize and expand Exeger's range of production machinery.

You will take ownership of mechanical designs from concept through implementation and commissioning, and collaborate closely with mechatronics, software, and process engineers across the organization. The work is hands-on at times: you may spend a long time theorizing, but should also be ready to assemble things yourself and run your own tests.

What the role involves

  • Designing, developing, and improving production machinery and automation solutions

  • Taking ownership of mechanical designs from concept through implementation and commissioning

  • Creating and maintaining 2D and 3D designs and documentation in SolidWorks

  • Developing specifications, test plans, and verification methods for machines and equipment

  • Collaborating with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

  • Driving continuous improvements in equipment performance, reliability, and maintainability

  • Laying the groundwork for automation and data collection, working closely with mechatronics and software engineers on the interface

  • Contributing to the development of engineering standards, best practices, and ways of working within Production Engineering

Who are you?

To be successful in this role, we believe that you have:

  • Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

  • Minimum five years of experience designing production machinery and automating processes in large-scale manufacturing environments

  • Experience taking a design from concept to implementation, including supplier collaboration, purchasing, and machine build activities

  • Familiarity with PDM and CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks

  • Understanding of how machines work and comfort working at the interface with automation/PLC programming, without needing to program PLCs yourself

  • Professional fluency in spoken and written English

Meriting experience

  • Experience in industrial automation

  • Strength and heat transfer calculations

  • Experience building custom or first-of-a-kind machinery and equipment

  • Swedish language skills

  • Project or technical leadership experience

Personal qualities

Exeger places strong emphasis on personality and cultural fit. The right person is open-minded, flexible, and communicative, with a humble attitude, comfortable discussing ideas openly and working toward the best solution together rather than defending their own. We believe you have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently, while owning a project from idea to finished result.

Exeger values engineers who take ownership while being open to learning from mistakes. There's a lot of expertise already inside the company, and part of the job is learning to absorb and apply it.

Other information:

Start: As per agreement
Location: Kista
