As a Glazing Platform Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Fostering technical partnerships: Cultivating and strengthening technical relationships with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs, positioning our company as a trusted partner in the automotive glazing domain.
• Driving technological alignment: Leveraging industry insights to influence technology development, ensuring alignment with customer roadmaps and maintaining our position at the forefront of automotive glazing innovation.
• Accelerating portfolio growth: Identifying emerging technical trends and customer needs to guide product development strategy, resulting in a robust portfolio that drives growth and captures new market opportunities.
• Leading automotive glazing innovation: Bringing curiosity and a collaborative spirit to work with a diverse and creative team of professionals from around the globe.
• Leading technical strategy development: Spearheading the creation and execution of a comprehensive technical strategy that aligns with industry trends and customer expectations.
• Supporting cross-functional teams: Collaborating with R&D, sales, marketing, and production teams to provide technical guidance and support, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the highest quality.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Proven R&D or product development experience with an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 or 2 Glazing Supplier.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes relevant to automotive glazing, such as lamination, glass processing, or coating technologies.
• Deep understanding of automotive supply chain, requirements, and regulations.
• Fluent in English.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in relevant engineering discipline from an accredited institution
• Innovation-driven mindset with a customer-focused approach, and experience in business development, entrepreneurship, and strategic planning.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills with experience in cross-functional, global organizations.

Job Specifics:

• Hybrid based out of 3M Deutschland GmbH in Neuss German
• May include up to 30% international travel
