Job Description:

Participates in driving growth in the product line/market by participating in customer collaboration and beginning to provide input on application development and product commercialization. Understands the product line/market and begins to impact Customer Inspired Innovation (CII) programs. Applies value proposition and commercialization concepts. Begins to participate in field trials and evaluates local competition and/or market practices. Replicates and develops product/market applicants leveraging e-tools as appropriate. Continues to build knowledge of industry standards, practices, and regulations, harnesses insights from market and customer process expertise. Delivers customer and market focused through e-media.

As an application engineer for 3M’s Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division, you will have the opportunity to make an impact through close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external customers to develop new applications, introduce new products and strengthen 3M’s market position through education and timely support to customers and partners. In this position, your impact will be as follows:

Job Requirements

1. Support business growth strategies in key markets (electronics, automotive, appliance and general industrial) through application development and replication.
2. Collaborate with electronics manufacturers to develop and specify applications for new and existing electronics bonding solutions.
3. Delight customers through timely product recommendation, application evaluation and quality resolution support.
4. Deliver product and market focus training through face-to-face engagements and webinars.
5. Collaborate with area and portfolio leaders to define area go-to materials through product performance analysis, competitive comparison and understanding of market trends.
6. Continuously build knowledge in market and technology trends, converting processes, automation technologies, industry standards, harnessing insights from key markets.

Required Competencies
1. Bachelor's degree in science, Engineering or equivalent.
2. Knowledge and expertise in bonding tapes, labels and adhesives.
3. Experience in electronics device design and manufacturing.
4. Technical service or application engineering experience in relevant markets.
5. Good command of the Vietnamese, English and Chinese language, both written and spoken.
