Application Engineer – Electrical Markets Division, Bogotá, Colombia

Collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world

As an Application Engineer you will play a key role for providing solutions and supporting multiple customers in the division of Electrical Markets. In this role you will be able to engage with customers, support product development, work on educational programs, and serve our customers and cross-functional areas.

The impact you will make in this role

• You will provide application engineering support to customers in the Andean Region.
• Collaborate with key accounts to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Analyze and interpret documents, quotations and BIDs.
• Develop technical documentation, including product specifications, technical datasheets and user manuals.
• Stay updated on regulations and standards impacting the portfolios in the areas of support.
• Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions.
• Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in electrical products.
• Manage product homologation processes with power utilities.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation for product homologation.
• Travel to customer sites as needed.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related fields.
• +3 years of professional experience in engineering or other technical activities.
• Advanced level of English proficiency – the entire process will be conducted in English.
• Familiarity with electrical products and their applications.
• Capability to interact with customers and stakeholders from different levels.
• Ability to analyze standards, BID documents and prepare technical proposals.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel within the Andean Region.
