The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

This position will supporting Consumer Business Group as a Product Engineer for the Command product line (™).

As an Advanced Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Implement programs to improve quality, reduce cost, and support new NPI programs for hardgoods in the Command™ product line.
• Verify and document product specifications for new and existing products
• Conduct product claims testing and document test results via claim substantiation process
• Interact closely with key internal and external manufacturers and suppliers to deliver high-quality retail products

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• Six (6) months of manufacturing and/or laboratory experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Materials Science or Chemistry from an accredited institution
• Experience in tape or adhesive manufacturing or laboratory setting
• Demonstrated success in effectively leading and contributing to cross functional teams.
• Strong communication, organizational, project management and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to define and execute product verification/claim substantiation test plans
• Demonstrated ability to develop & validate test methods and properly document test results
• Demonstrated proficiency in design of experiments and other statistical methods

Work location: Maplewood,MN

Travel: May include up to 30% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $95,825 - $117,120, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
