The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer (Fixed Term Contractor) with strong product development skills to join our dynamic team. If you have a proven track record in digital agencies, specifically in web and mobile development, we want to hear from you!

You’ll be at the core of developing digital projects of all sizes, from discovery stage through to final launch. You’ll bring your expertise to complex projects and work well as part of a cross-functional product delivery team.

As a Full Stack Engineer at 383, you will bridge the gap between our front-end and back-end engineering, working on the architecture, design, and implementation of web applications that are efficient, scalable, and user-friendly.

You will play a critical role in building and maintaining our products, contributing to both the server-side logic and the client-side functionality, ensuring seamless integration and performance.

Your Role

Front End Development:

• Create components within the React framework.
• Adapt to various JavaScript frameworks, libraries and software development kits to support our clients, including Next.js, React and React Native.
• Create semantic HTML markup and efficient styling with styled-components.
• Develop responsive and performant UI/UX experiences.
• Implement and maintain standards-compliant HTML Emails.
• Integrate JS libraries such as Google Maps, Algolia Search, or Charts.js.
• Network with public and private REST APIs.
• Optimise page performance and reduce load times across the stack.
• Create and maintain build systems for administering front-end tasks.

Back End Development:

• Plan, design, and implement multi-layered web applications using PHP frameworks.
• Build CMS applications within Laravel, Nova, or other suitable open-source frameworks.
• Create deployments for microservice applications.
• Write modular, configurable, reusable, DRY PHP.
• Architect systems from the ground up, including database design and data flow.
• Maintain codebases to ensure resilience and handle production outages.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their development through coaching or pair programming.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

• Proven experience in both front-end and back-end development, with a strong focus on React, Laravel and PHP.
• Experience creating responsive, heavily designed web sites and applications from the ground up.
• Familiarity with templating languages such as Blade, Twig, or Handlebars.
• Working knowledge of Git and experience in a mid-sized team (branching, pull requests, etc.).
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders at various levels.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript and PHP technologies for more than a year.
• Experience architecting and deploying production applications.
• Experience in the discovery and planning stages for digital platforms
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to plan your own time and align with team timelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of debugging both front-end and back-end code.
• Understanding of business and its various disciplines.
