Who are we looking for:

We are looking for an experienced PHP Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in PHP and MySQL, with a strong understanding of Elasticsearch and Laravel. You will be working on an existing large codebase and will play a crucial role in our transition to a microservices architecture.

What You Will Do:

• Develop and maintain applications using PHP and MySQL.
• Work with Elasticsearch to optimise search functionalities.
• Participate in the transition from a monolithic to a microservices architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write clean, scalable and well-documented code.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications.
• Ensure the performance, quality and responsiveness of applications.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

What You Bring:

• Proven experience as a PHP Developer.
• Strong proficiency in PHP and MySQL.
• Experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with version control systems, specifically git and Github.
• Ability to navigate through and work on an existing large codebase.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication in English and teamwork skills.
• Experience writing unit tests.

You’ll Get Extra points for:

• Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
• Experience in the streaming solutions industry.
• Python knowledge is a plus.
• React / Typescript knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to write testable code is a plus.
