An Engineer in Recovery services operations team works in a 24*7 global operating model. The incumbent will provision hardware, install OS, configure the servers, and restore the data. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with Internal teams to execute the recovery procedures efficiently.
What You’ll Do:
- Proficiency in Windows and VMWare platforms.
- Should possess knowledge of multiple hardware which are supported during the test.
- Identifies and resolves complex issues / problems in a timely manner.
- Review technical recovery procedures for clarity and accuracy prior to recovery or test event.
- Execute customer-specific recovery procedures to restore operating system, applications, and data.
- Create/Update SOP’s and Knowledge Base.
- Responsible for providing clear and concise updates to the ticketing system in a timely manner.
- Lead pre-test calls and capture all the dependencies of the platform.
- Follow the escalation procedure promptly.
- Must be self-motivated and a team player.
- Be aware of and abide by all relevant company regulations and policies relevant to the role.
- Follow Company / departmental policies and working practices, ensuring that no breaches of information security result from any actions.
- Ensure data protection is maintained and information is made available on a need-to-know basis.
- Play an active role in the prevention of unauthorized access and damage to information.
- Report security weaknesses and incidents appropriately to relevant personnel, including the Security function in a timely manner.
Who You Are & What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s or University degree in Technical related field of study or an equivalent related years of work experience required.
- Minimum (2+) year’s technical experience in a role involving direct customer contact (internal and/or external customers).
- Knowledge in building, troubleshooting, installing, and upgrading Windows and VMWare OS.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and network technologies.
- Troubleshooting knowledge in Windows 2Kx, and VMware ESX v4.x, v5.x, v6.x.
- Operational experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN), and Fiber Channel technology, Network Attached Storage (NAS) or external disk storage arrays would be preferred.
- Desirable to have prior experience in disaster recovery exercise.
- Aptitude for learning and ability to incorporate new skills and technologies.
- High levels of interpersonal skills. Highly motivated & self-driven with a proven ability to perform multi-tasking.
- Hardworking and able to work with minimum supervision and willingness to work additional hours.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Has the enthusiasm to grow into a larger role with additional responsibilities.
