Principal/Staff Test Consultant - Playwright + Azure DevOps

Role
We’re seeking a skilled and passionate Test Automation Consultant with expertise in Playwright. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and maintain robust end-to-end (E2E) test automation frameworks while integrating them with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps for CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively and professionally with your team to achieve shared objectives.
• Utilize your understanding of AWS services like S3 (basic knowledge).
• Perform manual testing and write comprehensive test cases.
• Design, develop, and maintain E2E test automation suites using Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Collaborate with developers and QA teams to define and implement automated testing strategies.
• Create reusable test components and frameworks for scalability and maintainability.
• Integrate automated tests into GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps workflows for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
• Educate teammates on testing techniques and work with them to enhance overall product quality
• Conduct exploratory testing to complement automated test coverage.
• Help reproduce production bugs and document them for resolution.
• Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize defect resolution based on severity and impact.

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in test automation, with a strong focus on E2E testing.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (JS) and TypeScript (TS).
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar E2E testing frameworks.
• Experience setting up/configuring CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, WebSockets, and browser debugging tools.
• Familiarity with Git and version control best practices.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
