Java Backend Engineer (Avalor)

Our Unified Vulnerability Management module is our first module to tap into the power of our data fabric, enabling companies to create custom contextualized risk scores and tailored workflows to reduce risk. We are seeking a Java Backend Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend systems that power our cutting-edge applications and services that help our customers manage huge amounts of their security data.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable backend services within a microservices architecture using Java /Spring Boot and Python
• Participate in design from scratch to production
• Deliver high quality features for our high-scale web environment
• Monitor the performance and cost of the services in production
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our technology stack and development processes
• Integrate with other team members (backend/frontend/product/UX)
• Mentor junior engineers and share your expertise with the team

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven backend development experience using Java/Spring Boot
• Experience working in a microservices environment, including AWS, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, SQS, and Tilt
• Proficiency in various data stores such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redshift, Snowflake, and Elastic
• An enthusiastic self-learner who can confidently embrace new technologies, conduct research to find innovative solutions, and successfully deliver them
• Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in rapidly changing contexts
