Delivering Zoox's mission of autonomous mobility primarily involves two stages - validating software in simulation before testing it in the real world and gathering insights from the data collected after real-world testing. The grand goal of the Developer Experience (DevX) team is to help developers at Zoox validate and infer insights from their changes across the autonomy stack in a reliable, and performant manner with faster iteration between the two stages. 

Zoox owns and maintains products that developers across the Perception, Prediction, Motion Planning, and release teams rely on in their day-to-day workflow. We are looking for Software Engineers with experience and an active interest in building web-based intuitive frontends. You'll be working closely with the customers from the requirements gathering phase all the way to the maintenance phase. If you are someone with a passion for frontend development and are willing to take ownership and responsibility then you will be a great fit for the team.

Responsibilities

    • Skilled at working in tandem with a team(s), or unsupervised as required.
    • Ability to drive an idea to a product ensuring high quality and user satisfaction.
    • Proactive in monitoring tools, databases, and services to evaluate relevant metrics with the aim of improving them for, ultimately, better user experiences.
    • High constant attention to maintaining and improving tools and services.
    • Following and developing best practices for similar roles and projects.

Qualifications

    • 3+ years of industry experience developing software
    • Experience developing new user-facing features and public facing applications
    • Strong JavaScript skills for moving and analyzing data
    • Experience with Vue, React, or Svelte.
    • Experience in designing and developing REST APIs and microservices
    • Understanding of web servers and web technologies

Bonus Qualifications

    • Knowledge of FlaskHigh attention to maintaining and improving tools and services
    • Knowledge of JavaScript build tools like Webpack and a passion for optimizing data-intensive frontend applications for efficient bundling and load times among others
    • An Understanding of PostgreSQL
    • Experience working with a Reactive Javascript framework like Vue, React, etc and, visualization libraries like D3 and PlotlyJS
