Who you are  :

• We are seeking a Senior Developer/Team Lead to join one of our product teams, improving the existing Laravel codebase and architecting new features.
• The ideal candidate will be an experienced backend web application developer who knows how to break business requirements down into achievable technical tasks. You do not shy away from refactoring existing code to achieve a better result.
• You are opinionated but open-minded and able to communicate your ideas clearly and passionately. You have the drive to learn from others, but also share your own knowledge.
• You're comfortable working independently in a remote team and an early-stage startup. Ideally, you are located somewhere between GMT+0 and GMT+5:30 (London to Bengaluru).

Your mission  :

Your main mission is to support the growth and adoption of our PHP products. As a senior developer, you’ll take on a leadership position and work closely with the team lead and product manager to implement new features and improve our current codebase continuously.

To achieve this, you'll take on any of these tasks on a regular basis:

• Create resilient, scalable API-consuming services
• Improve technical and coding standards for our project architecture to achieve scalable, high performance, and secure systems
• Debug production issues/bugs and fix them when they arise
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle: planning, design, implementation, and testing
• Do code reviews

Skills & Qualifications 🚀:

We’re confident that any suitable candidate can pick up new technologies fast, but we do require at least the following hard skills:

• 5+ years of experience in PHP development and MySQL
• 2+ years of experience with the Laravel framework

We are especially looking for the following qualities in a candidate:

• Experienced in writing testable code and automated tests
• Familiar with object-oriented design, design patterns, and software development best practices
• Flexible attitude, a strong commitment to quality and accountability
• Good understanding of REST API principles
• Proven experience in developing engaging, interactive solutions

Your tasks:

Implementing new features and creating resilient, scalable API-consuming services

• Designing, building, documenting, and maintaining REST APIs
• Following/improving technical and coding standards for our project architecture to achieve scalable, high performance, and secure systems
• Refactor current code base for better quality and maintainability
• Debug production issues/bugs and fix them appropriately
• Plan, spot technical risks, issues and dependencies, and communicate the impact of these to the project team
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
• Doing code reviews
