Senior Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

As an Infrastructure and Network Engineer, you will be responsible for setup, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the internal infrastructure including data center colocation facility, network, storage, virtualization, network equipment and server environments. This position requires a sense of personal ownership of all systems and projects. Also required is the ability to communicate effectively with other leaders within the organization to plan projects, coordinate budget expenditures, and deliver status updates and documentation. The ideal candidate will have an established record of accomplishment with existing technology and be eager to explore new technologies.

What you’ll do as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer

• Resolve challenges by analyzing issues, assisting the organization to determine the most appropriate course of action, providing direction and, when necessary, reallocating resources
• Manage, track, and report the progress of multiple projects
• Evaluate existing software and hardware in use as well as potential upgrades and/or replacements
• Provide forecasting to ensure current/planned capacity will meet the demands of the platform
• Administration of Linux (RedHat, Rocky Linux and Oracle Linux) Servers
• Leverage virtualization expertise using VMWare
• Perform network operations (NAT, VPC, Firmware upgrades, etc.)
• SAN administration
• Support of load balancing appliances such as F5 Big-IP, Palo Alto etc.
• Support and ownership of hosted co-located facilities
• Apply infrastructure upgrades to minimize downtime
• Participate in on-call rotation as well as providing after-hours support as needed

What we’re looking for

• At least 5 years of professional experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role
• Strong understanding and skill set around Enterprise Linux, networking appliances like F5 BigIP, Palo Alto, Fortinet etc. and physical hardware/datacenter management
• Ability to participate in a 24x7 on call rotation
• Strong interpersonal skills required to interface with teams across the organization
• Experience building, maintaining, and expanding highly available infrastructure
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and understand complex problems
• Excellent customer relationship skills to assist other departments with coordinated messaging on releases
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrated capability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Great attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Nice to haves

• Professional experiences and training in an Infrastructure or Networking competency
• Experience with at least one scripting language such as bash, python, etc.
