The Zebra’s machine vision business unit is looking for new team members who will be developing, improving and maintaining the overall software development infrastructure across multiple teams and product lines.
Everyday work at this position concerns build systems, version control, continuous integration, cloud platforms, security and close cooperation with IT department to assure high level of availability of all services required for streamlined software development at scale.
Role is suitable for senior as well as level II engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains build systems across multiple product lines (MSBuild, Ninja, CMake).
- Manages distribution of build artifacts (Artifactory, Conan).
- Manages code repositories at GitHub (and some Subversion).
- Automates and improves build pipelines, tests and deployments (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Analyzes report from penetration testing and vulnerability scans (CodeQL, SonarQube).
- Manages computing platforms in the cloud (Azure, GCP, AWS).
- Manages physical machines (both Windows and Linux), keeping them up to date and in compliance with corporate security policies.
- Supports trials of new infrastructure designs and services.
- Assesses risks related to dev-ops and security.
- Fulfills requirements of the Software Assurance Maturity Model (SAMM),
- Assesses and declares software release readiness from security perspective.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, supported with experience.
- 5+ years experience in dev-ops and/or security (Senior); 2+ years experience (level II).
Key skills and competencies:
- Full professional proficiency in US English.
- Must be a self-starter and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with geographically distributed development teams.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
- Experience with Docker containers (required) and Kubernetes (nice to have).
- Knowledge of TypeScript (heavily used in GitHub Actions).
- Knowledge of PowerShell and Bash (used in build scripts).
- Knowledge of Python 3 (used in build scripting and some runtime code at our website).
- Knowledge of .NET framework (nice to have; used within our build systems).
- Experience working with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with open-source software legal aspects.
