We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer - Advanced to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in managing and optimizing cloud environments, particularly with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will play a pivotal role in architecting, deploying, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability. Your proficiency with tools such as Terragrunt, Jenkins, GitHub, Kubernetes, Mongo Atlas, Confluent Kafka, IAM, Linux, and Networking will be essential in driving our cloud initiatives forward.


Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Infrastructure Management:

o Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

o Implement best practices for cloud security, monitoring, and cost management.

2. Automation and Orchestration:

o Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terragrunt to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.

o Create and manage Jenkins pipelines for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of applications.

3. Version Control and Collaboration:

o Utilize GitHub for source control management, maintaining repositories, managing branches, and ensuring collaborative development practices.

o Implement code review processes and contribute to the development of team standards.

4. Containerization and Orchestration:

o Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability, scalability, and efficient resource utilization.

o Implement Kubernetes best practices for cluster management, service discovery, and load balancing.

5. Database Management:

o Oversee the deployment and management of MongoDB databases using Mongo Atlas, ensuring data availability, security, and performance.

o Optimize database operations and implement backup and recovery strategies.

6. Messaging and Streaming:

o Configure and manage Confluent Kafka clusters for real-time data streaming and messaging.

o Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of Kafka clusters, and implement best practices for data streaming.

7. Identity and Access Management:

o Implement and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies and roles to enforce security and compliance requirements.

o Conduct regular audits and reviews of IAM configurations to ensure least privilege access.

8. System Administration:

o Perform Linux system administration tasks, including server configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

o Ensure system security, patch management, and compliance with organizational policies.

9. Networking:

o Design and manage cloud networking components, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, firewalls, and VPNs.

o Troubleshoot network issues and optimize network performance to ensure seamless connectivity and data transfer.

10. Collaboration and Support:

o Work closely with development teams to understand their needs and provide cloud-related support and guidance.

o Mentor junior cloud engineers and provide technical leadership in cloud projects.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

· Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a focus on GCP.

· Expertise in Terragrunt, Jenkins, GitHub, Kubernetes, Mongo Atlas, Confluent Kafka, IAM, Linux, and Networking.

· Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

· Certifications in relevant cloud technologies (e.g., Google Cloud Certified) are a plus.
