Your mission?

The Software Engineer in the Developer Acceleration team in Infrastructure will support the delivery of best practices and tooling to the rest of Engineering with the aim to accelerate the development velocity of the organization. This will support the design and development of microservices in Go and Node.js, deployed on Google Kubernetes Engine.

You have a consistent track record of delivery and excellent software engineering skills, balanced with high quality and a customer focus.

You can work across multiple facets of the project while collaborating across engineering. (Including DevOps, development, testing, and instrumentation.)

You have a robust analytic capability and the ability to create innovative solutions and must be someone who thrives in a fast-paced Agile environment with a can-do attitude

What are the responsibilities for this role?

• Design and develop tools and best practices that continuously improve development productivity.
• Consider the fullstack of work required on features including backend/services, SDKs
• Improve test coverage for services, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
• Focus on overall product quality and user experience.
• Improve test coverage for services, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas.
• Consider testability, portability/monitoring, reliability, and maintainability, and understand when code is ready to be shared and delivered.

Job Requirements

• 5 years of software development experience.
• Experience with Go, JavaScript, Python, or other widely used programming languages.
• Strong experience in RESTful Microservices
• Container technologies such as Docker on Kubernetes
• Strong API design, development, and management
• Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation. 

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with cloud native technology, CI/CD
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
