Partner Engineer, API/Developer

Location: New York or San Francisco (Onsite)

Base Salary Range: $142,000 - $200,000

X Developer Platform is responsible for the partner ecosystem of B2B and B2C developers that build solutions using X’s extensive API set. With more than 500 million active users and billions of tweets per week, X offers robust, real-time and historical data, insights and engagement opportunities across a wide range of organizations and industries. Our API gives you the ability to learn from and engage with the conversation on X and we supply developers to further uncover, build on, and share the value of this conversation with the world. 

We are seeking a Partner Engineer to work directly with a broad range of API partners and developers. In this role you will be responsible for the continued success and growth of partners on the X Developer Platform across both managed and self serve developers. You will work directly with external partner teams by providing technical guidance and support and help the partner implement X’s products in a way that maximizes their long-term value to the partner’s business. You will advocate for our partner’s needs internally, and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams during the development and launch of new features. 

What you’ll do:

• Build and document code examples to assist partners with API integrations

• Streamline technical inquiry support queue from managed partners and self serve

• Work closely with partners’ product and engineering teams to guide implementation of solutions using X products and APIs to solve specific business needs

• Consult with partners to optimize their use of X products and maximize the business value they receive

• Collaborate with internal product teams to understand product roadmap and its application to customer needs - including technical and business implications to partner solutions

• Diagnose complex product bugs, issues, and feature requests, communicate their nature and impact to product and engineering teams, and provide technical assistance and information to facilitate their resolution

• Create documentation and materials to address knowledge gaps and accelerate partners’ understanding and adoption of X products

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of API design principles

• Coding proficiency for one or more languages (java, python, javascript)

• Clear understanding of how to debug, triage, and resolve technical API issues

• 5+ years of experience in a partner engineering role with enterprise software customers 

• Ability to comfortably and professionally work directly with customer stakeholders of all types (software developers, product managers, senior business representatives, business leads) to define and accomplish shared objectives

• Solution oriented and able to identify areas of opportunity for streamline

• Ability to translate customers’ business needs into technical solution requirements

• Excellent project management skills, including scoping, stakeholder management, and communication, and comfortable running projects with significant autonomy

• Knack for understanding new problems and topics through self-driven research

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong attention to detail

Desired Skills:

• 5+ years of industry experience working on commercial software application or services 

• Strong Industry experience with Scala (ideally) or JVM-based programming language

• Knowledge of the social media/enterprise software space, data analytics (preferably with social media and/or streaming data), and associated software products
