About the Team

The Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) team at Workday relentlessly pursues reliability and availability of customer environments by employing a culture of learning, continuous improvement and an engineering focus.

The team builds and crafts innovative solutions to scale our day to day operations. We support our Workday customers with high energy, attention to detail and strong collaboration.

About the Role

Are you a creative and innovative Software Engineer looking for more opportunities to automate and improve reliability?  Do you enjoy building solutions to improve efficiency or reduce toil and manual effort? 

As a member of The Engineering Center of Excellence team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying automation and applications that will be used by multiple teams within the SRE organization. You will help build the SDLC & CICD framework, and support other teams in the organization on scripting and automation.

About You

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

• 3+ years of experience as a software developer supporting Production Engineering, DevOps or equivalent roles.

• You’re passionate about technology and enjoy doing research on new tools and techniques to seek out innovative ways of automating operational tasks.

• You have automation software development experience in the Private Cloud (Silo Data Centers) and Public Cloud Regions (AWS, GCP).

• You are skilled in one or more of the following programming languages - Bash, Python, GoLang, Ruby, Java.

• You have used configuration management frameworks like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes.

• You have experience in Linux and bash scripting

• You have good understanding of relational databases and MySQL

Other Qualifications

• Have a strong understanding of CI/CD, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.

• Experience in driving technical design and architecture sessions

• Possess excellent analytical skills for troubleshooting and problem solving.

• Worked in a fast-paced environment with the mentality that everything can be automated.

• Experience in collaborating with global and remote teams with a diverse set of backgrounds.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
