About the Role
As the Senior Director of the Total Rewards team at Workday, you will lead and mentor a team of dynamic engineers to define and shape Workday’s Benefits and Compensation solutions for our customers. Can you empower teams to innovate, continuously deliver mission-critical products at scale? In this role, you will serve an incredible team of 50+ software engineers and leaders to build and maintain the Benefits and Compensation solutions used by many Workday customers. You will also be joining a leadership team that embodies Workday's values and leadership principles!
Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for Total Rewards, aligned with business goals and objectives.
Lead and manage an organization of high performing teams of workmates responsible for implementing and supporting Benefits and Compensation.
Provide estimates and initial assessment for proposed development tasks.
Ensure on-time and high quality delivery of the project. Coordinate projects that span multiple teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and drive the development and delivery of our Total Rewards solutions
Work closely with product management, customer support, and other engineering teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of product features and enhancements
Build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, and industry experts to stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in this domain
Champion the product vision and collaborate with product management and key partners to deliver on product goals.
Growing and building the teams, and supporting the team to grow their careers while using their strengths and achieving their aspirations.
About You
Basic Qualifications
15+ years experience combined in software development and engineering management
10+ years in software application development with expertise in agile software development methodologies
5+ years Domain experience with Human Capital Management (Required)
5+ years technical responsibility/ownership of a mission critical product/application scaled to large enterprises or consumer base
5+ years experience developing Cloud / SAAS enterprise solutions
Experience authoring and delivering on OKRs
Proven ability to present complex technical information in simple terms and addressing senior leadership
Proven track record of forming relationships and partnering across organizations to achieve department goals
Passionate about software development and ability to inspire engineering teams to achieve results
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related fields
Other Requirements:
Experience authoring and delivering on OKRs
Proven ability to present complex technical information in simple terms and addressing senior leadership
Proven track record of forming relationships and partnering across organizations to achieve department goals
Passionate about software development and ability to inspire engineering teams to achieve results
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, architecture strategy, and roadmap for applications
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues and roadblocks
Lead and grow a passionate team of software engineering leaders and engineers across diverse geographies (NA and Ireland)
Experience in SDLC methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
Experience in working with large-scale enterprise systems and cloud-based environments

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
