About the Team

As we grow the Peakon engineering team at Workday, we are looking for an experienced Backend engineer to join us in Copenhagen. You would be joining Peakon's DevEx team, who are responsible for driving tech projects, which help the overall engineering org and enable our engineers to be more productive by improving their developer experience.

About the Role

Your focus will be to contribute to the development, architecture, and evolution of the Peakon platform.

You will be a key contributor in technical and architectural discussions within the engineering team, working closely with peers and engineering leads to set the technical direction for the platform.

You will also work with peers, through regular code reviews and pair programming.

As part of the Peakon team at Workday, you'll:

• Be an integral member of an engineering team tasked to improve the overall stability of the platform and our developer experience

• Collaborate with frontend/backend/platform engineers and QAs from various teams at Workday

• Regularly review and discuss other engineer’s code.

• Contribute to architectural discussions with other engineers across all levels

• Use your technical expertise to contribute towards building a best-in-class product

• Other tooling/software - Jira, Confluence, Slack, Zoom, Office365, Google suite

About You

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with backend development

• You have worked in a team setting, using collaborative tools for version control, code reviews and project management

• You have experience with a Node.js, TypeScript, Redis, relational databases, queue systems

• You have experience doing code reviews and providing feedback to your colleagues

Other Qualifications

• You have experience with building software that utilizes AWS services

• You have experience building web applications with an understanding of scalability, high availability, latency and throughput

• You are open to opinions of others and constructively discuss solutions to find the best one for the challenge at hand

• You are able to quickly and accurately break down, estimate, prioritise, and deliver projects of high technical complexity

• You are proactive and persistent

• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
