Willow is seeking an energetic, self-driven Principal Electrical Engineer. You will be part of the firmware group and work hand in hand with firmware, mechanical and test engineers. You will be leading all EE related efforts at Willow and work together and manage internal and external development partners. You will be an integral part of our Willow engineering team and help Willow to maintain technical leadership in the market and continue to innovate for our moms. 

Roles & Responsibilities | What you'll do:

  • Lead EE design and development of new pump products including digital, analog and RF components
  • Work with and guide external partners to design, develop, test and manufacture new electronic products
  • Electronic parts selection considering functional, cogs and availability aspects
  • Prototype development 
  • DFx- manufacturability, testability, quality, reliability, cost, sustainability
  • Manage and coordinate PCBA layout
  • Support local and international supplier selection
  • Alternative parts and components selection, sourcing support
  • Board bring up, debug, and verification
  • Writing electrical HW requirements, test plans and test procedures
  • Manage and support EMC and 60601 safety testing in external testing facilities
  • Manage and lead EE design reviews with cross functional peers
  • Lead RCA and resolution of issues found during development, delivering world-class quality designs to production. Lead RCA and resolution of field issues.

Experience | What you'll bring:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years experience as an Electrical Engineer developing complex electrical and electromechanical designs supporting research, new product development, and sustaining initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout CAD tools; proficiency with Altium is a plus.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
  • Previous experience with consumer devices is a strong plus.
  • Strong sense and pride in the quality of your work and products.
  • Successful product lifecycle experience. Working knowledge of stage/phase-gate and Agile product development processes.
  • Previous experience with ARM Cortex M MCUs (eg. STM32).
  • Previous experience with BLE radios is desirable. 
  • Self-starter and capable of working with minimal supervision. Ability to multi-task and provide expertise and leadership across multiple projects.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, especially technical writing.
  • Ability to lead as Technical Project Manager a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISO, CE, and other international requirements/standards a plus
  • Some experience with automated test development is a plus.

Additional Information
Willow takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on the successful candidate’s location, job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. We regularly review and update our pay ranges and therefore, these ranges may be modified in the future.

Bay Area, Seattle Area : $192,000 - $220,000
