WHAT WE DO

Western Digital India Team represents Engineering R&D, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Strategy, Business

Functions and Communications. We have a large R&D presence in Bengaluru and sales offices across the country.

WD Bangalore is a Center of Excellence and within R&D, our team is focused on firmware development enterprise Hard Disk Drive development. It is a growing team that has within 2 years been responsible for key enterprise products, delivered the highest performing, lost cost, air datacenter hard disk drive and has been instrumental in design, development of next generation architecture and products.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Work closely with Product, Software Development and validation teams to understand the current architectures, systems and implicit requirements.
•Independently design and develop high quality, stable and reliable Software and associated services by working with Product Management, User Interface/Experience and Quality assurance teams..
•Work in a fast paced, agile environment that continuously delivers value to our customers.
•Work closely with product owners, development, program management to drive schedules, tasks, and release activities.
•Work closely with customer support and field teams to improve end user experience.
•Become the subject matter expert, owner of one or more components and provide technical leadership.
•Self-motivated to work both unsupervised and as part of an agile team. Collaborate to develop self and others within group.
•Participate in planning and coordinating significant technical investigations from problem statement to conclusions.
•Understand end to end product lifecycle.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required
•Bachelors +6 yrs or Master +4 yrs Software Development experience in CS, CE, EE, EC or equivalent required.
•Experience in building REST API services and technically adept to deep dive into SQL, performance profiling, threading and access patterns.
•Strong programming experience in GoLang and Java.
•Experience developing complex and highly available services running in a production environment; Good familiarity with embedded environments, Linux and system programming in general.
•Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex software issues and configuration problems in heterogeneous environments.
•Strong analytical, documentation and communication/interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication.
•Self-motivated, with a collaborative, team-playing attitude; comfortable and enjoy working with dynamic and ever evolving environments.
•You'll be a fun and enthusiastic teammate who enjoys a challenge and celebrates success.
