Job Description

Lead and oversee Manufacturing Engineering initiatives focused on leveraging Engineering Principles and Techniques in Magnetic Recording to drive excellence in New Technology Ramp-up, Process Optimization, Equipment Development, Failure Analysis and Project Management within the Machining, Slicing and Grinding Processes of Slider Fabrication

Technical Competency:

  • Magnetic Recording Production: Expert understanding of the unique aspects of magnetic head backend production including related processes and equipment with in-depth knowledge of machining, slicing and grinding process
  • Technology and Process Development: Lead the ramp-up of new technologies, drive process optimization, and implement innovative solutions to enhance production capabilities.
  • Fixture and Equipment Development:  Proficiency in developing and designing/re-designing fixtures and equipment to drive quality, performance, and operation efficiency.
  • Failure Analysis and Corrective Actions: Conduct comprehensive root cause analysis of failures, develop corrective action plans, and ensure long-term resolution to prevent recurrence.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with company objectives.
  • Background on mechanical design & modeling with deep knowledge on tools used to create and analyze mechanical systems like AutoCAD & SolidWorks.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in designing and developing fabrication equipment and fixtures particularly for slider manufacturing
  • Expertise in using mechanical software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Extensive knowledge of Magnetic Recording Engineering principles and applications
  • Advanced understanding of slicing and grinding fundamentals including process optimization and software/hardware troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skill within and outside of an organization
