WHAT WE DO

Western Digital India Team represents Engineering R&D, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Strategy, Business

Functions and Communications. We have a large R&D presence in Bengaluru and sales offices across the country.

WD Bangalore is a Center of Excellence and within R&D, our team is focused on firmware development enterprise Hard Disk Drive development. It is a growing team that has within 2 years been responsible for key enterprise products, delivered the highest performing, lost cost, air datacenter hard disk drive and has been instrumental in design, development of next generation architecture and products.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Design and implement the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment infrastructure to support product development at scale with a 24/7 availability. Accountable to create, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines.
• Work closely with software Development, Cloud and Validation teams to understand their current architectures, systems and implicit requirements to ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications.
• Create automation scripts and streamlined processes to ensure rapid deployment of services.
• Use monitoring and logging solutions, custom alerts and dashboards to ensure system health and performance, compliance with best practices and security standards.
• Self-motivated to work both unsupervised and as part of an agile team and transparently communicate and collaborate with global stakeholders to develop self and others within group.
• Become the subject matter expert, owner of one or more components and provide technical leadership.
• Participate in planning and coordinating significant technical investigations from problem statement to conclusions.
• Create and maintain documentation of DevOps best practices, services and security/compliance standards
• Keep up to date with the latest advancements in the DevOps and CI/CD space.
• Innovate and ideate on new processes, technologies, and tools.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required

Bachelors +6 yrs experience or Master +4 yrs experience in CS, IT, CE or equivalent required.
• Proven expertise and minimum 4Yrs of experience in DevOps in successfully implementing and deploying CI/CD systems with Git/Gerrit/Jenkins
• Proven expertise with containerization and orchestration technologies -Ansible, Containers, and Infrastructure-as-code.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Eg: Bash, Python)
• Must have worked on developing and deploying event-based microservices in minimum one project.
• Must have working knowledge about monitoring, alerting and dashboarding of operational performance. (Eg. Prometheus, Grafana)
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and experience with serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda). • Strong aptitude and penchant for problem solving with great attention to detail and an ever positive, can-do attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication and are an effective collaborator.
