Wells Fargo Bank N.A. seeks a Lead Software Engineer in San Leandro, CA.

Job Role and Responsibility:

Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., is seeking a Lead Software Engineer who will lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact. Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines. Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs. Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors. Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives. Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals. Provide SME consultation to engineering teams and senior leadership/architects. Create reference technical design and blueprints, standards and best practices, reusable prototypes, and framework code for engineering execution. Analyses and provides capacity planning, cost planning for ETL – related software licenses and provides administration support for software installs on Unix Servers for initial installs and upgrades. Design, develop, test, and implement ETL application (Extract, Transform, and Load) code. Interact with product Owners/Data Analysts and convert Data requirements into technical specifications. Participate in cross-application efforts to share knowledge and bring new developments to the team. Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days a week. Position must appear in person to the location listed as the work address.

Travel required: None 

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a related position involving Software Engineering experience.

Specific skills required:

Oracle, Performance Testing, Splunk, GIT, Python, Linux, Software Development experience;

5 years of experience supporting or designing complex ETL production environments;

5 years of data environment experience including data management, warehousing and big data;

5 years of data management experience including data analysis, data integrity and data quality;

5 years of Oracle / teradata experience with SQL;

5 years of scripting and automation experience;

3 years of advanced scripting experience using Unix Shell Scripting, Perl, Python, Java, or PL-SQL; and

2 years of experience with Agile project methodologies.
