Climate Modeling & Analytics - Senior Lead Data Science Consultant

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Climate Modeling & Analytics – Senior Lead Data Science Consultant within Data Management & Insight. 

In this role, you will:

• Lead qualitative model and advanced analytic solutions builds requiring vision, creativity, innovation, advanced hypothesis generation and inductive thinking, and coordination of highly complex activities and resolution
• Provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise, leveraging data-driven insights regarding large-scale companywide climate commitments made by the enterprise
• Act as a top subject matter expert, leading all levels of professionals and managers across the company to drive climate methodology and data recommendations and strategies based on data-driven analytical insights, trends, and patterns; serve as an expert advisor to leadership
• Act as a top subject matter expert on climate models, analytics and provide this expertise to groups across the bank working on climate.
• Keep up to date and be involved heavily in methodology & data discovery/analysis in the rapidly changing climate landscape
• Lead model risk management across the team including training junior resources
• Enforce processes and controls for the model and analytic solutions to mitigate the risks associated with these builds
• Execute the most complex analytical experiments and create innovative statistical models to discover solutions for abstract business problems across various domains
• Interpret and analyze data, using advanced analytics modeling methods and programming, to recommend ways to solve problems and influence business decisions and strategies with impacts across the company
• Communicate actionable insights and recommendations using data in a digestible format to a non-technical audience of varying levels, including executive leadership, across the company

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science
• 5+ years of development experience with languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or R
• 5+ years of SQL experience
• 5+ years of experience with analytical methods used in statistical analysis, modeling, and reporting
• 3+ years Model development, Model validation experience, or a combination of both
• 2+ years of financial industry experience

Desired Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in Python
• Climate experience highly desired specifically in financed emissions modeling
• Experience in conducting project meetings, presentations and status reporting
• This position offers a hybrid work schedule of three (3) days a week in the office and two (2) days a week remote inclusive of holidays and vacation days counting as days in the office.

Pay Range

$120,400.00 - $287,600.00
