We are looking for passionate engineers who want to build the systems that manage Waymo’s ever-growing fleet of autonomous vehicles.
In this Software Engineering role, you’ll:
- Work with experts in the field of autonomous vehicles
- Implement and scale the software used by Waymo's Operations team. This collection of systems allows Ops to manage Waymo’s growing fleet of vehicles and operators, in the depot and in the field.
- Develop expertise in and make use of various Google technologies, like Borg, Spanner, and Scaffolding
At a minimum we’d like you to have:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of experience building Web Applications using best practices
- Experience with modern web frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, TypeScript, Dart)
- Passionate about infrastructure work: building internal tools, frameworks, and libraries
- Excellent communication skills - both technically with other engineers, and with non-technical stakeholders
- Excited about working on self-driving cars!
The ideal candidate:
- Is self-sufficient, product-minded and has a collaborative attitude
- Has experience building developer productivity tools with a high degree of product excellence
- Has experience or interest in a cross-functional environment - we work with many different roles to build solutions for Waymo, our problem spaces typically require more than just software
- Has C++ experience / open to full-stack development
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
