Senior Software Engineer, SEO Platform & Growth

This role is located in our Boston office with a hybrid schedule (M/F remote, T/W/Th in-office).

The SEO Platform & Growth team is a critical part of Growth & Ad Platforms, focused on organic search strategies and building a world-class platform to support our SEO initiatives. This team collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to drive impactful changes that boost our organic search visibility and deliver measurable results. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and lead efforts to make a step change in our SEO platform and growth strategies and take it to the next level.

What You'll Do:

• Drive the development and implementation of technical SEO strategies to improve organic search performance
• Bring “best in class” proven practices to Wayfair’s site and content
• Identify opportunities for site architecture, URL structure, internal linking strategy and navigation optimizations to enhance search engine visibility
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute SEO initiatives that align with business objectives and drive measurable results
• Leverage data and insights to inform content optimization strategies and keyword targeting
• Optimize site speed and performance through the use of CDNs, image delivery, and other technical best practices
• Develop and maintain scalable tools and processes to support ongoing SEO efforts
• Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends and search engine algorithm updates, adapting strategies as needed to maintain a competitive edge
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of growth and development

We Are a Match Because You Have:

• 6+ years of experience in SEO, with a strong emphasis on technical SEO and organic growth strategies
• Expertise in optimizing large-scale websites with a high volume of pages and products
• Deep understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factors
• Experience with SEO tools, web analytics, and data analysis
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to drive growth
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Experience in e-commerce, retail, or similar industries with a large volume of product listings is a plus
• Passion for staying at the forefront of SEO trends and continually improving strategies
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
