The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and talented individual to help us define and build the Way2B1 platform as it scales. As a Staff Software Engineer -Backend at our company, you will be working with leadership to design and implement new features. You will play a critical role in constructing and managing data infrastructures that service our clients now and in the future as we grow. Your contributions will significantly shape the backbone of our platform, forging a powerful link between families and their trusted providers. Your proficiency in data management and system integration will be essential in propelling our mission forwards.

 

Our ideal candidate has

  • 7+ years of relevant software experience
  • Strong experience with and/or interest in using Node.JS
  • Deep experience with SQL and database technologies.  Ideally PostgreSQL, but MySQL or related also works.
  • Experience with AWS and building/deploying backend services in a cloud multi-tenant environment.
  • Actively participate and perform in code reviews and design sessions
  • Mentor other engineers, support technical culture, and ensure best practices  
  • Experience defining and implementing system architecture with significant impact 
  • Experience in locating and improving slow queries and the tools associated with doing so
  • Effective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers, and clear status updates.
  • Experience owning a project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution
  • ​​Share our values, and work in accordance with those values.
  • Ability to thrive in a fully remote organization.

  • Help provide oversight of back-end code, and implement new patterns and strategies to improve performance and stability
  • Identify places where we can improve our code, speed, and infrastructure
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other developers
  • Help our business grow by identifying potential issues and pitfalls
  • Bring features, big and small, to life
