Software Engineer III

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

You will develop and maintain Demand Estimation Engine for Walmart. You will be part of the exciting journey as the product is going through a transformational change leveraging Walmart’s strength as an omni channel retailer. Working closely with Senior Engineers, Architects, Data Scientists, Product and Business partners you will design and develop robust, fault-tolerant solutions that work at Walmart scale. You will be solving some of the most challenging problems in the field of demand estimation by utilizing your Data and ML engineering knowledge.

About Team: Demand Estimation
On the Item and Inventory team, we ensure our customers get their orders when and where they want them, in a frictionless, predictable manner. What's more, we create reusable SaaS products and services that manage our catalog and power end-to-end inventory management, including replenishment, fulfillment, and transportation. With end-to-end inventory management, from replenishment and fulfillment to transportation, we give our drivers and partners the tools they need to get the right items to customers on time and in the right packaging. Our team that develops Walmart Demand Estimation and management product that generates multi-year sales forecast for all items across all markets and all channels i.e. Stores, Ecom, Pickup and Delivery. We drive replenishment across Walmart, generating more than billion forecasts each week.

What you'll do:

• Your primary responsibilities will be:
• Designing and implementing data processing pipelines to collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to gain insights and identify data quality issues.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines to ensure data integrity and availability for analysis and modeling.
• Assist in the development and deployment of machine learning models and algorithms.
• Conduct model training, evaluation, and optimization using various machine learning techniques.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience
• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, Big Query etc.
• Strong development experience on Apache Spark with with Java, Python or Scala
• Good understanding of any public cloud offering like GCP, Azure or AWS
• Working knowledge of workflow management solution like Apache Airflow
• Solid understanding of data engineering, data analysis, and data visualization disciplines. 
• Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting large-scale data pipelines. 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to work with large datasets and perform data analysis. 
• Good understanding of DevOps and MLOps practices. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills. 
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Experience on ML Engg would be a plus

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00
