SENIOR, SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Position Summary...

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Omni Availability is dedicated to the mission of reshaping how our customers interacts with us and  making it frictionless and faster for them to get what they want while building a trusted partnership with Walmart. We are tasked with building the foundational technologies for Infrastructure & platforms, vital to success at this scale paired with technical solutions for complex business workflows. We are building state-of-the-art systems using cutting edge technology, has ability to A/B test in fast iterations, use GPU/CPU based online inferencing of deep learnt and traditional models, event driven architecture. This will span many markets, business models and form factors, therefore, we are looking for engineers who will being not only an abundance of experiences in technologies but an abundant curiosity to innovate. Our Team - Sam's Club

Sam's Club Technology Sam’s Club is our membership warehouse club, the business model that offers our members quality products at an exceptional value unmatched by traditional retail. Sam’s Club offers a highly curated assortment of items, in addition to building and leading technologies and services like Scan & Go, Club Pickup and home delivery service in select markets. Sam’s Club also offers speciality services, including travel, auto buying, pharmacy, optical, hearing aid centres, tire and battery centres and a portfolio of business operations support services.

What you'll do:

• Own the quality of an entire application/area by supporting all releases for the particular vertical.
• Take active participation & drive sprint planning for the team.
• Accountable for sprint deliverables for the team.
• Debug and log bugs on JIRA by analysing logs, metrics, code etc.
• Maintain high code test coverage & test pipelines for all environments,
• Provide automation scoped in each sprint for continuous improvement.
• Strong collaboration with developers, product managers and program managers and involve in discovery/design discussions

What you'll bring:

• B.E./B. Tech/MS/MCA in Computer Science or related technical field.

• 7+ years of object-oriented programming experience in Java.

• Excellent computer systems fundamentals, DS/Algorithms and problem solving skills

• Hands-on experience in building web based J2EE services/applications and Kafka, Apache Camel, RESTful Web-Services, Spring, Hibernate, Splunk, Caching.

• Experience in systems design and distributed systems.

• Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills

• Exposure to SQL/NoSQL data stores like Cassandra, Elastic, Mongo etc.

• Large scale distributed services experience, including scalability and fault tolerance.

• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as Open Stack, Azure, GCP, or AWS

• Exposure to build, CI/CD & deployment pipelines and related technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins etc.

• A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate and optimize systems and tools.
