What you'll do...

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Design and build large-scale, cloud-based and event-driven systems. Develop multi-tier applications using REST, Java, and Spring Boot. Implement Kafka based solutions for asynchronous feed processing. Build alerting and monitoring systems for application monitoring and troubleshooting using Splunk, Grafana, and Dynatrace. Develop automated software test suites for all new software features and enhancements. Debug business and production issues and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrences. Identify test scenarios and create JUnit tests for newly developed features using JUnit 5, Mockito, and JaCoCo. Integrate server logic with cloud caching solution (MeghaCache) to enhance the performance and speed up the response time for the API. Perform data modeling, designing, and developing cloud solutions using NoSQL database including Azure Cosmos DB. Tune Azure Cosmos DB including partition key, indexing, and point reads. Design and implement distributed search solutions using ElasticSearch search and analytics engine. Design and develop solutions using relational database including Azure SQL DB. Build and deploy web services on cloud using Kubernetes based Walmart Cloud Native Platform (WCNP), OneOps. Write performance script to benchmark application API's using JMeter and Automaton. Engage in discussions to develop system design and architecture for new software products or improvements to existing ones. Manage application configurations on cloud using cloud configuration management (CCM) system and integrate application code with CCM using Java libraries.

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 5 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment OR Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.

Skills required: Experience coding in object-oriented programming language Java. Experience designing and implementing REST API using Java, Spring and Spring Boot. Experience with data modeling, designing and developing cloud solutions using relational databases including Oracle and NoSQL databases including Azure Cosmos DB. Experience tuning Cosmos DB including partition key, indexing, and point reads. Experience designing and developing cloud solutions using relational database SQL Server. Experience designing and implementing distributed search solutions using ElasticSearch search and analytics engine. Experience building and deploying microservices on cloud using Kubernetes and OneOps. Experience designing and implementing asynchronous feed processing using Kafka. Experience creating performance script for benchmarking the REST API's using JMeter and Automation. Experience building alerts, dashboards for monitoring application health using Grafana and Splunk and troubleshooting business and production issues using machine generated data logs and Dynatrace. Experience developing and maintaining test suits including frameworks such as Junit, Mockito, and JaCoCo. Experience building distributed caching solutions using MemCache and managing application configurations on cloud using cloud configuration management (CCM) system and integrating application code with CCM using Java libraries. Experience with source code management using GIT. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $182,073/year to $234,000/year.  Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
